To every X Factor reality tv hopeful who waited until the last minute to apply – get on it!.
The X Factor USA Season Two deadline is tomorrow, April 27, and it may take you that long to get your audition done… if you start right now. No, not because you’re slow – but because the software you are forced to audition with on the X Factor USA auditioning site is, well, simply atrocious.
I spent five hours last night with a friend on her X Factor USA audition. One hour was spent coaching her on the actual audition, the other four were spent trying to get the stupid site to work!
Since many of you might have yet to see the inside of a reality show audition room, I thought I’d show you. Be warned, it’s not glamorous. If you saw my 20/20 piece last year, you should know that it was shot on the rooftop of the W Hotel in Hollywood. It was super posh. That is not typical.
In fact, most reality television audition rooms look like hostage interrogation rooms. You have to stand (or sit) there facing blinding light, answering questions being barked at you by a casting director you can barely see through said blinding lights, hoping all the while you’re impressing the shit out of them.
When is the best time to apply for a reality TV show? No, not when during the casting process, but when during the run of the entire series? I had an AHA! moment the other day and I think the answer (and reason why) might enlighten and inform you!
